Ø Normal applications: Passports reach the Embassy from Pakistan after processing and printing in 6 to 8 weeks.
Ø Urgent applications: 25 to 30 days
There are three options for collection of passports:
Ø Option-1 (in-person) The applicants are encouraged to collect the passports in- person from the Embassy. It is advisable that prior to visiting the Embassy, the applicant may confirm that the passport is ready for collection by sending an email to or calling the Embassy. For collection, the applicants must bring their last passport and the receipt/token issued at the time of submission of application.
Ø Option-2 (authorization) If an applicant is unable to visit the Embassy in person, they may collect their new passports through a designated person who may bring a signed authority letter from the applicant, his/her own original identity card (CNIC) along with a copy and applicant’s last passport. The authority letter can be down-loaded from the Embassy website at Authority Letter
Ø Option-3 (courier) When not possible otherwise, the applicants may choose to receive their passports through courier service. In this case, the applicants are required to send a self-addressed (in Chinese language) return courier receipt along with their previous original passport, token and undertaking (download at Undertaking for Delivery of Passport by Post).
Kindly note the courier expenses are to be borne by the applicant. The Embassy will not be responsible for loss/damage of passport at any stage of mail or courier service or by the authorized person.
