Requirements for the issuance of Machine Readable Passport (MRP)

Ø As per the notification issued by the International Civil Aviation Organization in 2016, Machine Readable Passport is mandatory for international travel.  

Ø In order to obtain a Pakistani MRP, the applicant must personally appear for biometrics and digital photograph. They may also present the following documents:

   a)   Original and valid Pakistani Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) or NICOP. 

  b)  Original expiring/expired Pakistani Passport (and copies of page 1-5 & current visa/residence permit of China). 

   c)  For lost or stolen passports, a loss of passport report from Chinese police/immigration bureau.

Ø  For minors (less than 18 years): 

i. Original Computerized Form “B” (CRC) or NICOP. 

ii. Original Birth Certificate. 

iii. Original and valid CNIC of both parents

iv. Valid Passports of both Parents

v. Should be accompanied by father and mother/legal guardian. 

vi. Present Guardianship/custodianship papers in case of separation.

Ø  Passport Applicants (Minors Aged 10 and Above)

All minors aged 10 years and above applying for a passport must present either:

i. Juvenile Card (JV) OR

ii. Child Registration Certificate (CRC) issued by NADRA, containing fingerprints and a photograph.
