Pakistan-China B2B Investment Meeting’ on Fisheries
The first ‘Pakistan-China B2B Investment Meeting’ on Fisheries was organized in Qingdao, Shandong province, on 29 October 2024. The event was the first in a series of sector-specific meetings to foster joint ventures and partnerships between Pakistani and Chinese companies. The event is a follow-up to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China in June 2024 to further promote trade and investment between the two countries. Forty-five Chinese companies and twenty-eight Pakistani companies participated in the event.

The 6 September marks a significant day in the history of Pakistan. Every year on this day, the Pakistani nation observes “Defence & Martyrs Day” in a befitting manner. Together we pay rich tributes to the valiant sons of soil and brave heroes of our Armed Forces who fearlessly fought, and defeated India that attacked our motherland across the international border on 6 September 1965. Despite their numerical advantage, enemy designs were thwarted by the valiant Armed Forces and were handed an unforgettable defeat, on all fronts. Fifty-nine years on, the Armed Forces of Pakistan unceasingly show the same ever-ready state of alertness, professional excellence and war preparedness while up-keeping the ‘Spirit of September’ that has become a symbol of resistance and resilience.

On the auspicious occasion of the Independence Day, I extend heartfelt felicitations to the people of Pakistan at home and abroad. We pay homage to the immense sacrifices of our forefathers and countless unsung heroes of the Pakistan Movement, who fought tirelessly for an independent country for millions in South Asia, where they could live according to their beliefs and values. As envisioned by Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Pakistan emerged as an independent and sovereign state on the map of the world on 14th August 1947 through the unwavering and steadfast leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and unmatched sacrifices of our ancestors.

The Jammu and Kashmir dispute is one of the oldest unresolved international disputes. It has been on the agenda of the UN Security Council since 1948. The UN Security Council resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir affirm the right of the Kashmiri people to self determination. Unfortunately, these resolutions have not been implemented despite lapse of over seven decades.
