A very good evening to you,
It is a pleasure to be in Kashi on the occasion of the 15th Xinjiang Kashi–Central and South Asia Commodity Fair. On behalf of the Pakistan delegation and my colleagues from other countries, I extend my sincere appreciation to the People’s Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the Kashi Prefectural Administration for hosting this important gathering, and for the gracious hospitality extended to the delegation.
This fair is more than a marketplace. It os a bridge between nations, fostering regional connectivity, strengthening trade linkages, and building partnerships that endure well beyond its closing ceremony. Its role in bringing together China, Pakistan, and the broader Central and South Asian region is both strategic and inspiring.
Pakistan greatly values its All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership with China. Within this framework, Xinjiang holds a special place as a frontier of China’s westward connectivity and also as a vibrant partner in advancing the Belt and Road Initiative, especially through the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Our land border in Khunjerab is now an All-Weather Route.
We see immense potential to deepen practical cooperation with Xinjiang across diverse sectors, including textiles and apparel, food processing and agribusiness, logistics and minerals, as well as e-commerce and information technology.
Kashi’s emergence as a dynamic trade hub positions it perfectly to serve as a gateway for Pakistani products to reach not only the Chinese market but also Central and South Asia. Pakistan is also eager to expand institutional and business-to-business exchanges, encouraging more Chinese investment in our high-potential industries, from renewable energy and manufacturing to agriculture and technology. I am confident that our meeting today, along with the interactions taking place throughout this fair, will open new channels for dialogue, collaboration, and mutually beneficial growth.
Once again, I express deep gratitude to our hosts for the warmth of their welcome and the excellence of their arrangements. We look forward to translating the spirit of partnership evident here into tangible cooperation projects that not only benefit our two peoples but also contribute to regional stability, connectivity, and prosperity. On behalf of Pakistan, I extend my best wishes for continued peace, success, and progress to the people of Xinjiang, to China, and to our shared journey towards a more connected and prosperous region.
Shukriya. Xie Xie. Thank you.
