Unveiling ceremony of Replica of Minar-e-Pakistan held in Chaoyang Park, Beijing

An unveiling ceremony for a replica of Minar-e-Pakistan was held in Chaoyang Park, Beijing. This activity is part of the Embassy’s public diplomacy efforts and coincides with 75th Anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence Anniversary.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Moin ul Haque highlighted the historical importance of Minar-e-Pakistan which was built in memory of 23rd March 1940, when Pakistan resolution was passed at Iqbal Park in Lahore. Underscoring the time-tested nature of Pakistan-China friendship, he underlined the importance of cultural cooperation and people-to-people exchanges in nurturing the friendship between the two countries over the past 7 decades. He hoped that this replica would serve as a symbol of of friendship between our two countries. 

This is first replica of a Pakistani monument showcased in China.
