Closing remarks of Ambassador on Pakistan Students & Professionals Forum

Asalam o Alaikum and Good Evening everyone!

As we approach the conclusion of today’s Forum, I would like to thank each one of you for your presence. My appreciation also goes for all the speakers, moderators, and panelists who took the time to share their valuable insights. Their views have enriched us, giving us new ideas and perspectives on how to promote the interests of our students and professional community in China.

I also wish to appreciate my team at the Embassy, professionals involved in the preparatory work of this Forum and the student volunteers who have generously offered their support to today’s event. Your hard work and commitment is aptly reflected in the meticulous planning and execution of the forum. Well done and keep up the good work!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The proceedings of the forum today show that the convergence of academia and industry represents a powerful catalyst for progress and development. I am confident that the insights and ideas shared during this forum will pave the way for a meaningful change and transformation.

As proposed by Dr Kashif Sharif, the issues and suggestions discussed here today would require continuous follow up. The Forum, can only function effectively, through its ownership by professionals and students. The Embassy will continue to provide its support for any of the endeavors planned and proposed by you.

Moving forward, there is a general sense to institutionalize the forum as a standing body that would need to be registered with the local government in accordance with local regulations. Also, work needs to be carried out on developing a charter or TORs for this body.  I understand some initial work has already been undertaken. This draft needs to be discussed, refined and finalized in a series of consultations. Once this process is completed and as one of the outcomes of the charter, an executive committee would need to be set up. I would urge members of the Embassy and the professionals gathered here to join hands and undertake this important task. I am conscious of the ongoing professional commitments of everyone. Therefore, I deeply value the effort that has been put in so far and I look forward to the continued demonstration of camaraderie in taking this forum to the next level as soon as possible.
I also agree to the idea of holding a Job & Research Fair later this year. One of the purposes of today’s forum was to cater for the aspirations of our student community to embark on a bright career in relevant industries. We will build on this momentum with Job & Research Fair eventually providing the much needed visibility of the existing and emerging opportunities in Chinese job market.

While preparing for the forum, we conceived the idea of Research Awards for outstanding research paper or thesis written by Pakistani students in PhD and Master’s programs. We shall be sharing the details of this concept through social media platforms and Embassy’s website in the coming months. I am sure you would appreciate the idea and make it successful through your active participation.

May like to add personal observations on the panel discussions and proceeding of the forum here.

Taking this opportunity, when we have a large presence of our Pakistani community, I would like to underscore the huge responsibility we all hold as Pakistanis living in China. In a way, you all are ambassadors of Pakistan, representing your country in universities, international organizations, enterprises and communities. Your conduct and interactions contribute to shaping the image and perception of Pakistan in China. It is through your excellence of character and performance in academic and professional fields that we can to cultivate love and respect for Pakistan in China’s youth and next generations.

Let us strive together to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and excellence. Let our interactions be guided by integrity, respect, and a commitment to collaboration. Through our actions, let us showcase the true potential and values that Pakistan embodies.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Despite multiple challenges, Pakistan is blessed with immense talent. Our people are hard-working, dynamic and resilient. I am optimistic every bit that we as a nation, driven by our youth, will overcome all the challenges and will rise in the comity of nations.

May Allah bless us all and guide us on the path of success and prosperity.
